This is really more about a privacy issue than an English course. However, it’s certainly food for thought though - have Google Street done your street? The NativeEnglish blog has done a very current piece on Google street. Why not look up your own address and see. There has been uproar (on a local level at least) about the privacy issues this has brought up. Hope to hear from you - we’ve already brought this topic into the classroom with a really mixed, interesting reactions. If you are interested in the whole article you can view it here.
You can find U-Learn on Google’s Dublin Street Map too if you are lost (or really bored!:)

Hi everyone,
Been a busy busy week in the school with new groups coming in. I came across an excellent enterprise for English learners last Wednesday. You can test your vocab outside your Dublin English School with the website FreeRice.com. For every answer you get right for the vocab you give 10 grams of rice to those who need it most. Thanks to EnglishTeacherMargareta.com a good quality English language learning blog
with some fresh ideas.

Hi guys! Been getting so many emails recently about confusion with the past tenses that I decided to do a four video section on them. Here’s part one on the Introduction to the Present Perfect. Dublin English Schools face these confusions every day and the explanations can be made simple (sometimes over simplified for certain levels) but there really is no substitute to old fashioned practice. At U-Learn we focus on constant practice in natural settings. That’s the best way to take ownership of the language. The sooner you make it yours the sooner it’s learned forever! Those of you who have been in my class will already know about my poor drawings! The common craft store has better quality production values that we can only admire right now. Thanks to them also for inspiration for putting this lesson on video.

The Cambridge exams come in various categories and the most popular ones for adult learners are the Cambridge First Certificate and the Cambridge Advanced Certificate. and the IELTS Exam Online you can find some great tips from the University of Cambridge for the Cambridge Exams.
Thanks to First Certificate in English Weblog where I found this video. It’s a well laid out blog specifically outlining the major points in the exam.
1) Written Section
2) Reading
3) Use of English
4) Listening
5) Speaking

British Council studies have suggested that 70% of your language learning actually takes place outside the classroom. With that in mind we hope to provide plenty of structured social events for our students to come along to. Our St Patricks Day Party happened a little early (four days to be exact) but all had a good time and plenty of chats, music, guitar playing, and good old fashioned green hats and Guinness was had.
Thanks to all you guys for forwarding your photos!! If you see yourself in something you like drop us a mail and let us know
