U-LEARNS STUDENT FAQs
Here are some frequently asked questions you might be thinking about. Just let us know if you have any other queries or doubts and we'll be happy to help you out!1. When can I start my course?
You can start your English class in U-Learn on any given Monday, and in exceptional cases, you can start during the week. We do recommend you start on Monday, as you will have a test on Friday which will reflect your week's study.
2. Can I pay some of the cost now and the rest during the course?
We prefer you to pay the full amount of your course before you begin. In some cases you can pay a deposit following your registration, and then pay the rest of the cost on the day you start class, but generally it is better to have paid the total fee before you begin.
3. When I arrive on Saturday, who will meet me with my key, and show me to my apartment or residence?
An accommodations officer will greet you on most occasions. (S)He will have the key and will show you to your accommodation. On other occasions we will provide you with the code to a safety storage location, where you can take your keys. It is very important that you do not share this code.
4. How far is the accommodation from the school?
We offer different types of accommodation in Dublin, and as a rule we try not to have our accommodation too far from our language school. Our student residence is within 5 minutes walking distance of the school, however, in some cases students may have to take a bus to the city centre to come to the school.
5. How many people are in the classes?
We understand that students want attention from the teacher, so we try to keep our English classes small. Usually our classes do not have more than 10 students. Dublin, however, is a popular destination for learning English these days, and so sometimes classes can be busy.
6 Are there many Spanish students in the class?
We receive students who want to learn English from all over the world.
We try to have a cosmopolitan mix in our English classes.
7. Can the school help me to find a job?
We want to help you have a comfortable stay in Dublin. If you need to find a job our staff and teachers will help you prepare an optimized curriculum vitae, and assist with any interview language you might need. We can also point you in the right direction for companies and employers in your area of work.
8. What activities can I do in your school? We offer many different types of activities to our students. Each week students are given the opportunity to go on a cultural trip in the city, watch a movie (with English subtitles in the school), play football with their classmates, and enjoy a sociable drink in an Irish pub - all in English of course!
